Campaign Development: Making Campaigns Acessible to Those Most Affected
Human rights campaigns are guided by the principles of empowerment and participation. Participants in this breakout session identified and discussed the successes and challenges of developing human rights campaigns that live up to their own ideals. Participants shared their experiences of working on campaigns and offered concrete strategies for ensuring that such initiatives are accessible to all people and are truly accountable to human rights.

Campaign Outreach and Organizing: How to Maximize the Participation in Your Campaign
Participation is a core human rights value, especially where campaign organizing is concerned. This breakout session encouraged advocates to be more intentional, focused, and effective in bringing about high quality and broadly-based participation in campagins, by providing advocates the opportunity to share their own methods for increasing, deepening, and maintaining the active involvement of multiple parties throughout the duration of their efforts.

Participants in this training workshop got up to speed on the growing list of new media tools and concepts; explored best practices for advancing their campaigns with new media; and applied their newfound knowledge and skills firsthand by creating their own new media campaigns.
