WITNESS
WITNESS uses video and online technologies to open the eyes of the world to human rights violations. They empower people to transform personal stories of abuse into powerful tools for justice, promoting public engagement and policy change.
WITNESS envisions a just and equitable world where all individuals and communities are able to defend and uphold human rights.
Project
USHRF provides support to WITNESS' "Promoting Human Rights Video Advocacy in the United States" project. Through this grant, WITNESS will conduct video advocacy trainings for U.S.-based human rights advocates, outreach to the U.S. human rights community to ensure adequate representation of groups and issues at WITNESS's annual Video Advocacy Institute, and will develop print and online training materials and curricula for advocates working on U.S. issues. Witness will also identify new Core Partners working on human rights issues in the U.S. and will produce a series of media pieces related to their domestic human rights advocacy.
