US Human Rights Network Training Committee

The Training Committee was one of the first membership structures set up by the US Human Rights Network in order to expand the cadre of human rights activists in the U.S. The Committee started with members from key training organizations and has since expanded its membership.

The members of the Training Committee have collectively devoted hundreds of hours to accomplishing several key US Human Rights Network initiatives. The work of the Committee has touched thousands of individuals and led to a greatly strengthened and deepened movement for human rights in the U.S.

Project

USHRN's Training Committee will gather and assess training resources on human rights strategies and methodologies that are currently available, and will make them available through an on-line database.

It will also develop a resource toolkit on human rights documentation. This toolkit will provide a general introduction to human rights documentation, highlight examples and outcomes of the recent documentation efforts, and provide comprehensive lists of existing human rights documentation resources both by issue area and region of the country.
