The North Dakota Human Rights Coalition (NDHRC), a statewide non-profit organization, works to effect change so that all people in North Dakota enjoy their full human rights. It is a broad-based coalition of individuals and organizations with an interest in the furtherance of human rights in North Dakota. NDHRC works toward the enhancement of human rights in North Dakota through information, education and legislative action. It seeks to empower individuals in North Dakota in their communities, state legislature (governments), and society at large to promote and protect human rights for all people.
In partnership with University of North Dakota, School of Law Clinical Education Program in Grand Forks and the Consensus Council, Inc. in Bismarck, NDHRC aims to increase human rights awareness and education throughout North Dakota, and to provide resources and support to low wage workers throughout the state’s thirty six counties.
The North Dakota Human Rights Education Project will carry out human rights workshops that are open to the public and center on learning about and understanding human rights language and concepts. The workshops will also include discussion of how human rights can be used in local and state based legal actions, and in conjunction with the University of North Dakota, will provide information on how residents can access the School of Law’s Clinical Education Program through web cameras and other forms of remote communication.
