Coalition of Immokalee Workers

The Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), established in 1995, is a membership-led organization of agricultural workers based in Immokalee, Florida. Its members are largely Latino, Haitian, and Mayan Indian immigrants working in low-wage jobs throughout the state of Florida.

CIW seeks justice for farmworkers and promotes their fair treatment in accordance with national and international labor standards. The "Campaign for Fast and Fair Food" is a highly creative, national campaign for the elimination of human rights violations in the US agricultural industry. For the first time in farmworker organizing history, the campaign aims to leverage the power of the multi-billion dollar fast-food industry to demand improved labor conditions of its produce suppliers. The campaign presents a structural solution to a human rights disaster on US soil.
